We are so sorry about Jerry...he was such a funny, fun guy and we enjoyed being with him. We have special "April Sound" memories. I am speaking for Elliot and my parents, as well, when I say we are thinking of all of you and send you big hugs...Suzi Waldman Gerstenhaber Wednesday, July 28, 2010 |

We would like to offer our sympathy to all of you. You family has been in our thoughts and prayers throughout Jerry's illness. My family and the Greenberg and Klein families go back for more years than I have lived. Jerry was an asset to both his family and this community. He will be greatly missed by everyone whose life he touched. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make this time a little easier. Jimmie Jay & Bruce Jackson Tuesday, July 27, 2010 |

Like everyone, I am deeply saddened by Jerry's death. It seems such a short time ago that he was diagnosed. In fact, his first day at MD Anderson was also my sister's first day, so I had been keeping up with his treatments.
I cannot think of Jerry, however, without remembering his sense of humor. He was one of the funniest people I've ever met. His keen wit, and gift of one liners, got me through a number of otherwise stuffy social occasions. I also learned that he could say the most hilarious and outrageous things, and get away with it. As his friends know, Jerry was at his funniest with some of his long term pals, including my close friend and former law partner, Jerry Nathan. Watching those two banter was like watching the best comedy act in the country---for free.
Of course humor was only one facet of Jerry's full life. He was so dedicated to his family, his charities, community and friends. It was my privilege to be his friend, and his neighbor, and he will be irreplaceable.
To Pat and the family, I am very sad that I will be unable to attend the services because of my own family medical issues out of town. I know that Jerry's enormous cast of admirers will provide the send off he deserves.

Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in every thought and prayer. May the peace which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days . Alyce and Dennis Alter Tuesday, July 27, 2010 |

I was in the graduating class of '53 with Jerry. I will always remember the great job he did with the reunions of our class at Beaumont High School. With time, precious memories settle into our hearts and mind, quietly waiting to be called upon, always willing to remind us that the spirit of love never goes away. May you find comfort at this difficult time. Robert Radford Tuesday, July 27, 2010 |
