I was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Nelson. I have many fond memories of him whether it was when he was helping coach our baseball teams or just being around him at the house when I and my brothers spent the night with Mark and Steven. He was a fine man and I respected him greatly.Mrs. Nelson, Mark, Steven, and Jill, please know you have my deepest sympathies. I, and my family, will have you in our prayers. God bless.

As I looked from my daughter's new home this morning, the view is of Wesley Methodist Church, and I prayed for the Gerald Nelson, who was such a valued member of that congregation. Knowing that the man helped shape his own children in God's way by his own devotion and beliefs, has been observed in being friends with Steven for so long. Steven's devotion to his daddy and mom and theirs to his has always been envied by me. Truly rest in peace, Gerald, you did so well in life and now you are in your eternal reward. Hallelujah. Affectionate to all the Nelsons, Linda Sunday, July 25, 2010 |

I am so so sorry that we have lost Gerald. He fought a good fight and now he is the winner being able to sit with God and try to arrange everything in heaven. I loved that man. He called me Smiley and I will always think of Gerald and Evelyn whenever I think about Wesley UMC. Sunday, July 25, 2010 |
