To my best friend in the world. We had a lot of good times together, living together in bmt, at the townhouse, playing in the bayou and boating (as you called it the by or buy?, but i liked being bayou),huntin',fishin, shootin' our guns, hangin'out listening to our kind of music. Anyway you will be missed more than you could ever imagine by all that loved you as much as i did.The 37 years we knew each other went by like a camera flash. But i'll bet you've earned you're wings now and will be able to keep an eye on your loved ones and steer us in a new and better direction.God knows some of us need it! I will always cherish the times and things we did together. You wiil be in my thoughts and prayers daily... Love you forever, your friend, Larry Gene Hood... Monday, July 19, 2010 |

When we lose someone we love, it seems that time stands still. What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget. Gone but never forgotten. Monday, July 19, 2010 |

I grew up next door to the McAlpins. I never had a little sister, so I "adopted" Holli as one. I will always remember Gary smiling and laughing. He expanded my music library to include many late 70's hits and everytime I hear Margaritaville I think of him. He was definitely a BIG part of my childhood and I regret not seeing in for so many years because now I will not have the chance. I am thankful that Holli told him I called after his surgery last Thursday. SO, at least he knew he was in my thoughts. Monday, July 19, 2010 |
