Anthony Fasulo (Beaumont, TX)

I have known Melody since 1972 when I was a senior at Forest Park High School, and she was a freshman. We later worked together at Crawford and Company in the late 1980's. From a professional standpoint, I think Mel was a very good adjuster. She knew when to stand her ground, and when to back off. She was always very fair with people, and that is one of her greatest qualities. Mel was always alot of fun to be around. She had a great sense of humor, always quick with a joke or funny remark, and was a good sport when the joke ended up being on her. We are all truly going to miss Mel, but let us remember that God has called one of his finest and brightest "stars" to be with him in Heaven for eternity. Thank you Melody for touching my life in many positive ways.....Anthony Fasulo

Jenny Murphy (Sour Lake, TX)

I'm still in shock over the passing of Melody. I met her through the HJ band booster club while I was a board member. I loved her sense of humor, she always made us laugh at the meetings. It was difficult for her to stand for too long in the concession so she started doing fundraisers for our kids on her own and donating the profits to the band boosters as well as serve on the Band Booster Scholarship Committee. She LOVED "The Big Blue Machine" with all her heart and wanted to see every band student to do well. She very rarely missed a performance and would proudly watch them perform with tears rolling down her face because she was so proud of them. She unselfishly donated her time and money to make sure that each band student had a homecoming mum this past year and organized the Transiberian Orchestra Concerts trips to Houston for the past 2 years. She always had great ideas to try to raise money for our kids and we wouldn't have our little stuffed "Hootie" if it wasn't for her. Lloyd and Jonathon I'm so sorry for your loss. Jonathon she loved you so much, she talked about you all the time. I am glad to have known her and will miss her. The Big Blue Machine now has an Angel in Heaven watching over them.

I met Melody while she was working at the football games at Hardin-Jefferson. She did so much for the school and band. She was a very caring person. We will miss her.
