Gloria, we cannot fully understand the pain you are feeling at this time. We can only stand ready to offer what litte comfort we may have as you and Dustin's children travel this journey. Please know that God IS in control and all happens within His perfect will. Although we have only met a few times over the years, if ever there is anything you think I may could do for your family, I will certainly do my best. I hope that God's peace will surround you in the days to come. Monday, May 24, 2010 |

Chaney,
Words cannot express the pain and loss everyone is feeling without you here. You most definately left a lasting impression on everyone. Alot of us went our seperate ways after high school, but the memories you gave me while in school will last forever. You were so funny!! I remember all the fun times we had when we were with Monica and I was with Craig. We sure did have some fun! I miss those days.
We tend to get wrapped up in the chaos of life and often forget to tell those we love just how much we care about them. I am thankful that I got to run into you last week. Before then, it had been a couple years since we talked. It was great catching up with you and seeing how good you were doing. The way you talked about your precious babies will stay with me forever. You trully were a great father, and that shined in you. You would do anything for your girls.
It's been a sad and hard weekend for everyone close to you, and the tears are sure to keep flowing until we can reach some peace with this. Things just dont make sense sometimes. I do know, that you probably have God and all his Angels laughing uncontrollably at your jokes and sense of humor. Your little girls, and the ones closest to you are in our prayers. I hope you see how much you really meant to everyone down here. You were a blessing to those who knew you. Can't wait to see your smiling face again one day.... We love you!!!

Marine, When we got the phone call that you were gone, I was in shock. Just thinking back, that on Mother's Day we spent an hour together talking about random stuff and now you're gone. But I know what you're doing. Right now you and Chesty Puller are up there with Saint Peter guarding the gates of heaven. I remember the first day that we met. You noticed my Marine Corps sticker on my truck and addressed me as Staff Seargeant before you even knew who I was. Ironically our paths had already crossed through Kayla and Ashley. The Corps is a great thing and it brought us together as friends before our family did. I think of the tours you served and the great things that you accomplished in your short time here with us. Your family, friends and this great nation are truly proud to call you our son, our friend and our brother. Please know that your girls love you with all your heart and that Kayla and Cole will be very well taken care of. You were the closest thing to a father that boy has ever known and you have done a remarkable job with him. Marine, I know from experience that we do as Marines helps us in life as civilians. I know that your service made you a better man and a great father. Trust me when I say that I felt great pain in my heart when I found out, but I knew that you were going to be greatly taken care of. I'm not going to say that you leaving is unfair to the ones you left behind, because of what you did to protect everyone you love and preserve their way of life is more than anyone could ever ask for. You have done a great deed to your family and friends. I will look our flag and know that another one of God's Marines has been called home to defend Heaven know that he has defened our country. You will forever be in my thoughts, my prayers and forever in my brotherhood. To a great friend and an even better Marine, OOH-RAH!
Semper Fi and God Bless You Cpl. Chaney,
