I am the niece of J. Corder Smith, named as an honorary pallbearer in the obituary. I send you my family's condolences. We are grateful that your loved one and his friend, Lindsey Walker, was able to help him during a low point in his life when he needed to get his life back on track in late 1961. More details are in a letter I am sending to his home. Corder died in1978.

Words can not express just how much Lindsey meant to us. He was one of a kind. If we ever need anything, he was there to lend a brotherly hand. When Steve was Worshipful Master at Bmt Lodgs 286, he became ill. During that time he also had planned a fund raiser. The only person I could think of calling was Lindsey. I had no idea who else to contact. Lindsey and yourself took the reigns and made sure that fund raiser was taken care of. Jokingly, we dubbed Lindsey as our 'Hero'. We had no idea that latter on he would prove true to that title. Many a time he would help with no hesitation whether it was a kind word of encouragement, or rolling up his sleeves to lend a hand. I will miss not seeing him in Chapter. I could always be encourage just by looking at him. You and Lindseys support was and will continue to be felt as Steve and I finish our year. We thank God that he allowed us to have Lindsey and you in our lives. You two were and are truly a blessing. We love you with all of our hearts. Please know you are in our prayers at all times.
