To the Halbirt/Nugent families: We sincerely had the plesure and the friendship and love of John and Margaret over the past years.....not only as neighbors but also as "family". They adopted us, including Suzanne, and we did the same with them. John was absolutely incredible and will be truly missed. He had amazing "inventions:..including getting leaves out of the gutters and pine needles off his roof...all from standing on the ground!! We are sending our love and are wrapping our arms around you all at this difficult time. We wish we could be with you to help celebrate his wonderful life. Our great memories will always be with us. To the Halbirt family: I am so sad and sorry for your loss. What a wonderful man! Mr. Halbirt would often say the last few years that he met me when I was first 8 yrs. old and would take credit in helping to raise me. I give him and Mrs. Halbirt a lot of credit and all the wonderful wisdom and life values will hopefully be passed down to my family.
I wish I could be with you all, but I am there in spirit. I know Mr. and Mrs. Halbirt are smiling down on me and that I have accomplished my life dream of becoming a nurse. Mr. Halbirt, I am still collecting feathers for my headress! Miss you both very much. Coming home to visit my parents will never be the same. Also, thank you for allowing us to keep you dog Dutchess who you let outside while we were at work/school. I will remember your love for dogs. Monday, December 21, 2009 |
