Doug Simpson (Boulder, CO)

My condolences to all of the Manning family for your loss. I know his passing at this time of year is particulalry tough for your family, and I wish all of you the best as you endure these sad days. There will come a time, hopefully soon, in which your thoughts of him are only of the good days, and you can remember him as I do --- whizzing around the rink with a big smile, picking up fallen kids, including my own.

Some will never know what that skating rink meant to so many kids and how much of a positive impact Mr. Manning was on so many generations of skaters. His kind demeanor and welcoming smile greeted hundreds of kids on so many skating days at the rink. He made so many wonderful memories possible for so many. Rest in Peace.

I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Mannings passing, my heart goes out to the family. Mr. Manning was someone that I admired growing up. He gave me my first job working at the skating rink when I was fourteen years old.
I want the family to know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

It is an honor and a priviledge to have known and worked at the skating rink for such a great person. That was my first job. I got paid for doing what I loved to do. To this day I still go skating. Miss the speed team we use to have. He taught us that it keeps you young and healthy. I learned a lot from him. He was a good man! I too grew up there. Thank you for all the wonderful times. I pray that the family keeps his love for skating alive. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends. He is in a much better place. "at Peace" "skating in heaven with God"
