I went to work for the gas company (United Gas at that time) in 1972 and after about 1 year got to work as cashier with Dorothy while another employee(Loyce Trahan) was on maternity leave. I can still hear Dorothy's laugh and she could always find something to laugh about. One of my fondest memories of her is her kind heart. I was a single mom some of the time I worked with Dorothy and she would always give me the left over donuts that she purchased for the office to take home to my sons. I still work at the gas company(now CenterPoint Energy) and I call the years spent with Joe Hext, June Yawn, and Dorthy the glory days. I bet that she is happy & laughing right now at something funny she sees in heaven. May the Lord bless your family at this sad time. Thursday, October 8, 2009 |

To Dorothy's family,
My father, Joseph Hext, worked with Dorothy at Entex for many years. As a child I followed around after my Father at the office. I have wonderful memories of Dorothy, many of which involved me destroying her cashier area! I remember her as a very kind lady. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that God will comfort you all during this difficult time. Tiffany Hext Nickles Monday, October 5, 2009 |
