my fondest memories are of babysitting you when you were just a newborn and i was a scared teenager. what a responsibility!!!! i was all alone with you on the 3rd floor of a huge house - dark and creaky - 2 blocks off Calder at about 6th street. what a beautiful baby you were - and with a good set of lungs, i must say. my heart breaks for all the difficulties you have had in your life, but it also sings to know of your triumphs, and what a courageous fighter you were. to paraphrase poet robert richardson, "warm summer sun, shine friendly here; warm western wind, blow kindly here; green sod above, lie light, lie light--goodnight sweet Charlotte, goodnight, goodnight.

Unfortunately, Charlotte and I had lost touch over the past 10 years or so. I am very saddened to learn of her passing. I have many good memories of times we shared over the years.
