My father, Charlie Lyons, grew up with Mr. Hendrix in Honey Island. Daddy played on the basketball team with your dad. At my father's visitation I met Mr. Hendrix and his brother Don. I told them that Daddy would say "One day me and R. J. Hendrix " and then Daddy would laugh so hard he couldn't finish his story. They laughed and assured us it wasn't anything immoral, indecent , or illegal. May God wrap his arms around your family and comfort you in this time of sorrow. Please know your family is in my family's thoughts and prayers.

Revelation 21:1-4 ESV

(1) Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
(2) And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
(3) And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
(4) He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning nor crying nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

I am sorry to hear that your father has died. I know the pain of heart you feel now. You are much in my thoughts and prayers. Please remember the truth of God, that R. J. now enjoys life everlasting in that beautiful city not created by men. He stands in the presence of our God and Christ. R.J. leaves behind a legacy of love here on earth and I know he hears, well done good and faithful servant, as he faces our savior.
May God uphold you in these days of sorrow.
