Ann and I were so sorry to learn of R. J.'s death. I worked and worshiped with R. J. and count him as one of the most loving and hardest working man I ever knew. He loved his family and the last time he stopped by the bank to visit, he brought me up to date on each of his children and families. Although he wasn't able to get around like he wanted too, he still had that gleam in his eyes. Ann and I pray that God will comfort and sustain you during these days of grief. My prayers are with all of you. Mr. R.J. Hendrix Sr. always put a smile on my face with his stories during his early morning calls to Jerry at the office. He always talked to me as if he was standing right there in front of me and as if he knew me all my life. I know he will be missed by everyone he came into contact with. Peace is at his heart now. Uncle RJ was such a sweet soul and a precious uncle to me. He always made me feel so special and loved. We will miss him tremendously but know that he is in heaven with his Lord and Aunt Adene and other family members. Much love to my dear cousins. Monday, August 17, 2009 |

To Barbara, Susan & Jerry, I am so sorry for the loss of "Uncle RJ". He was so special and always made our family gatherings a joy. We will always remember the "candy canes"! My love to all of you. Cindy Monday, August 17, 2009 |

Dear Hendrix Family, I am so sorry to hear of R. J.'s death, but know he's been ill for some time. He was always a fun person to work with at Unocal and a good friend to me, my late husband Bobby, and my parents (Mac & Nellie Belle Ryder) throughout our lives in Nederland, TX. You're all in my prayers at this time! Ginger Ryder Romero
