I worked with John at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. He was a great mentor to many young scientists. He challenged all of us to make sure that our results were defensible and that they answered the question at hand. Tuesday, August 18, 2009 |

It was good to have worked with John, first at Dugway where I hired him, then later from Columbus. He was always a hard-charger who kept everyone focused on a quality job. The very first time he shook my hand at our initial interview, his grip was so strong that he actually cracked a bone in my hand. It took three weeks to heal - but I hired him anyway!

John was a tremendous asset to the Battelle Albuquerque Operations and he'll be sorely missed. John was instrumental in building the T&E business based on his knowledge of the CBRNE community. Dr. Terry had an exceptional ability for conveying complex scientific concepts in simple, layman's terms. John was also known as the office 'constant gardener' and resident green thumb. He grew and tended plants that grace our office today. John also had a sense of humor and created specially annotated gifts to raise spirits. Take for instance my specialized Barbie Fishing Pole with superior traction that he presented me with after I suffered an accident while fly fishing; it hangs on my wall today. We’ll always miss our irreplaceable and irrepressible “Dr. John”. Monday, August 17, 2009 |

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of John. I only met him about 2 years ago working with Battelle, but quickly grew to respect and admire him. I will miss him. Chad Friday, August 14, 2009 |
