Byron "Wayne" Feagin
September 11, 1946 - July 31, 2009

Wayne was such a kind & patient individual. He was my lead at Aker, and he never yelled at me, even though it might have been warranted a time or two. He took many of the "piper young ones" under his wing & his memory will live on in the work he taught us to do. God Bless Wayne & his family. I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

Molly & Raul Benitez (Houston, TX)

Wayne was my first squad boss 15 years ago in the Piping Department at John Brown, (now Aker Solutions). If I had two words to describe Wayne it would be, a "gentle giant". He was not only a giant in stature but he had a giant heart and love for not only his family but also for his many, many friends. We will all miss Wayne's silly grin and hearty chuckle. He was truly "one of a kind".

Michelle, Michael, Paula, please know that you and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers.

"No eye has seen nor the heart of man conceived what God has prepared for those that love Him."

With much love and respect,
Molly and Raul Benitez

My deepest sympathy to the Family - God Bless.

Wayne and I worked together at TIC constructors on a project in San Marcos, TX. He and I spent some good times together, even though it was a tough project. Wayne really knew his stuff. He was a very caring, competent, and honorable man. We have kept in touch by telephone and E-mail since that project's completion. He will be sorely missed.

Chris Gerloff (Norfolk, VA)

I worked with Wayne on the design of the DDG-51 Arleigh Burke class destroyer back in the 80's.
Things had deteriorated in the Petrochemical Industry down there in Texas and so Wayne came
up here to Virginia and transitioned into the Marine Engineering field like he had been doing it
all his life. He was an intellectual sponge who could quickly absorb so much knowledge and put
it to good use. He was always quick to lend a hand on a design problem or a personal problem.
I learned a great deal from Wayne and still rely on much of what he taught me over 20 years
later. Wayne was the modern day Renaissance Man, he could do it all. He could form a beautiful
piece of jewelry using those big ol banana fingers or he could tear an automobile or boat engine
apart and put it back together. He had a great handshake and a greater smile, the only thing
bigger than his heart was his pride of being a Texan. We have kept up by telephone and e-mail
all these years, I was always going to Texas to see him and he was coming to Virginia to see me.
I will surely miss his e-mails and the sound of that Texas twang on the telephone, things in Texas
will be a little less Texan without my friend Wayne. I am very sorry for the family's loss because
I realize what a huge loss Wayne is.
