I also met the McCord family when I worked at the Dairy Queen in Bloomington during my long-ago teenage years. Edna was a hoot to be around. I learned a great deal from her and have fond memories of those days. As you can see from the photo, she was such a bright light. My sympathies are with the family. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 |

I always think of the hymn "Victory in Jesus" when I think of Edna. She always requested that song when she had a chance to do so. Condolences to the family. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 |

I saw Les this week ar DQ & he told me of the passing of his mother. I am so sorry for your families loss. I have wonderful memories of my childhood growing up in Smithville. My mother (Barbara) worked at DQ in the late 60's with Eugene & Edna. I have a few pictures of those days. I too (as a yound girl) was allowed to help out on Saturdays (while mom was working) stirring sloppy joes & other little jobs in the back of the store. I remember visiting with Edna at her home in Bloomington. I told Les this week that I remembered the huge hornets nest in the window on what I think was the 2nd floor of her home. Just reminiscing of some very wonderful memories with your family when I was a little girl. Tina (Pierce) Staggs Wednesday, August 24, 2016 |

I met Edna when I worked at Nicholson Datsun that was located right next to the Dairy Queen. She was a very sweet and wonderful lady. She was fun to be around. I worked with her son, Ron, for a short time when he worked there. My husband and I still go to the Dairy Queen and talk to Les as much as we can. She lived a good long life and will be greatly missed. Wednesday, August 24, 2016 |
