Dorothy "Dot" Marie Halbert
November 6, 1922 - June 7, 2016
Msgr Jerry McGrath (Beaumont)

Ms Dorothy devoted her life and energies every day to keeping our Cathedral Basilica and chapel beautiful for Our Lord, the people of our parish and diocese. We thank God for Dorothy's inspirational faith, love for Christ and the Church, deep prayerful union with Our Savior, his Blessed Mother, St Anthony, all her favorite saints and inspirational sacrificial faith, stewardship and ministry.

Ms Dorothy radiated the life of a living Saint in our midst, which I believe everyone who knew her already knows. As a woman of great faith she offered all of us a splendid example of profound prayer and sacrificial service. Ms Dorothy was like the great women of the scriptures and heroic Christians who have passed before us marked with the sign of faith. The the very fiber of her life she was filled with the joy in Our Lord. As we pray for her eternal repose in the arms of Our Risen Lord, I am confident that Ms Dorothy is asking God to bless us here on earth with many graces. It is with this same confidence that I believe Our Lord has welcomed Ms Dorothy into his heavenly kingdom with his divine words from the 25th chapter of St. Matthew's Gospel : ‘Well done, good and faithful servant - come enter into the joy of your master!’

Love you and praying for your soul here in Rome at the Vatican,

Fr Jerry

Ms Dorothy Halbert is a very God loving lady. When going to visit her at her room, she always had on EWTN on her television. Her rosary was always where she could reach it. It was not easy for her to recline in health and be confined. Her love of Jesus and praying the rosary gave her comfort.

This is one lady that I feel certain will live with Jesus Christ in his eternal kingdom. May the perpetual light of Christ shine on her forever.
