Colonel George Rhea Sharp

Josey M. Johnson, III (Beaumont, TX)

In high school there was something special about you. I wish then that I had known why, but, later in life we got to meet, again, and I had the honor of serving with you honoring our fallen vets and seeing and learning why you were the man you were.
Thank you for your service to our country and for your love of kids, like me, that you mentored over the years at South Park High School.

With love and respect,
Josey M. Johnson, III

Mr. Sharp was principal during by my high school years in the '70's. One of the kindest, sweetest persons I have ever met. RIP Mr. Sharp. You will be sorely missed.

You will be greatly missed, George Rhea, and certainly never forgotten. Your kindness and gracious acknowledgments of others who served their country managed to imprint themselves on the hearts of those who served. Thank you for mentoring my husband, Ted, who also flew in WWII, and for missing him too. Jan, I know what you and all of the rest of your and George's family are going through and my heart goes out to you.
Love, Gwen
