Aunt Norma, such a vivacious and endlessly energetic woman throughout my formative years, tried frequently to convince me that liver was delicious. Passionate about gathering family members for any excuse, she orchestrated many grand weekends at their Brownwood home, encouraging my two younger sisters and me to romp with our cousins outside until darkness fell and lightening bugs surrounded us. Home-cooked supper, followed by watermelon seed-spitting contests and hand-cranked peach ice cream, then allowed us to pound away on their piano until way past normal bedtimes. Although we never agreed on liver or politics, I always will admire her activities later in life helping to preserve the Big Thicket as a natural treasure for future generations to study and enjoy.

Gary Butler (Kountze)

Becky and Allen,
My heart is heavy for you this morning. May God's peace that passes all understanding bear you up and may the love of God surround you in these dark days. Know that your friends and neighbors share all your losses and pray for your family. Norma was a stalwart in her advocacy for peace, fairness, the aged and the downtrodden. That truly was what God calls on each of us to do.
God bless each of you

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. I would like to share good news from the Holy Bible, it promises that death will be know more and we can enjoy life eternally with our loved ones found at Isaiah 25:8.
