In my thoughts - hold fast to all of the beautiful memories. We are never grown up enough to not miss our Moms--

Soraya Callender Miller (Albany, GA)

I have such vivid memories of my Uncle Cal and Aunt Doris from visiting their amazing 3-story home in Beaumont where we slid down the staircase when they weren't looking, to showing off our dresses as cousins that I think she sewed herself, to enjoying her cooking in the big doublewide in Vidor and sleeping on the sofa beside the giant cuckoo clock they kept from the big white house. I can hear her wonderful happy-laughter in her kitchen and still see her smiling face as she caught up with us in conversation since we lived so far away in South Georgia. She smiled with her eyes and not only her lips -you knew she was sincere when she spoke. She had a grace and class about her that I'm sure attracted a very young Harland R. so long ago and was the start of so many wonderful generations and cousins of mine. The real blessing comes now that the Callender brothers, sisters, and their spouses, save my one Aunt Lena Callender, are all reunited in Heaven. That is one BIG laughing party going on and on and on that I am looking forward to attending someday. And oh the joy at seeing her big son, Mike! God bless my cousins, Harland and Sherry and all their families -peace be yours, today.

We have precious memories of both Doris and "Cal" when they visited Sherry in South Carolina. Some good laughs around the game table too! Blessings to Sherry and your family as you bid her fond goodbye and good rest.
