It seems like I've always known Paul. From growing up in Nederland, to both being Lumberjacks at SFA, it seems we were always connected in some way. My heart aches for Paul and all that he was battling. Through it all, he was such an inspiration to many, and he made sure everyone knew of God's love and plan for us. Paul is most assuredly walking with Jesus in glory, now. My continued prayers for comfort and peace for the Ware family during this very difficult time.

Blessings,
Rhonda Cotten Rountree

Mrs. Ware and your family, I'm so, so sorry for your loss. Thinking back the last few days the memory that stands out in my mind is how Paul and I first became friends. I believe it was third grade and every day as we lined up to leave at the end of the day he would "frog"/punch me in the shoulder which frankly aggravated the heck out of me. Then after about the 5th day of this when he punched me I hauled off and hit him smack in the face. I still remember the shocked look in his eye and how he chased me down the hall of Highland Park Elementary. He got caught running by a teacher and I got away. LOL. After that day we were fast friends. I will always remember how he would stand up for me when other kids picked on me (if you recall I was always the scrawny/nerdy type). He was kind of like the big brother I never had. I will always remember us playing with our matchbox cars, building "forts" in each other's back yard, exploring the drainage canals all the way to the tank farm over off Hwy 365, riding our bicycles and later mini-bikes on the old inter-urban right of way and the dirt trails that were around back then. Although we lost touch as we left college and moved into our careers, his passing has left a profound hole in my heart. These memories have helped in the past few days. I hope that your memories of Paul and your faith will bring you some comfort until we all see him again with our Father in Heaven. Love to you all. Kelly
