Elinor Jean Shorkey
December 28, 1943 - March 4, 2015
Kim Truman (Houston)

Jean was definitely the most well rounded person that I have ever known in my life. She was all of life's lessons rolled up into one being. And, I'm proud to call her my Aunt. If you really knew her, you knew everything God was trying to teach you about life. She represented innocence, happiness and sometimes sadness. She was always curious as well as always watchful with the hope of gaining more knowledge. At times she was frustrated and impatient and was even a little sneaky here and there. But, most of all, she loved everyone and loved being loved. She accepted everyone and just saw the best in them. Most importantly to me, she loved me, my mom and my dad (even though my parents were divorced). She LOVED my husband and my children, as if they were her own.
I will never forget how excited she was to see me EVERY time I walked in the door. She always greeted me with a huge grin and a "what are you doing here?". She was happy after scrubbing me down in the tub at age 4 (ouch) and then having me for a sleep over and taking me for a movie the next day!
Jean was such a blessing to my life. I'm not even sure I realized how VERY much until yesterday.
