Dad, mom and I were saddened to hear of JW's passing. What a precious, fine man. So many great memories of him and your family when we lived on W Chicago Dr. Daddy told me he will never forget one time he was painting the house in the back. JW came over and walked around back and said Walter, why are painting the back of the house? Daddy said well it's Sunday and I didn't want everyone going to church to see me painting and not in church. JW said Walter, God sees you. My dad said he has told that story so many times. Always enjoyed his visits and his smiling face. Precious parents. He will be missed. Prayers for you all.

Sheila, I loved growing up down the street from you and your parents. I have so many happy memories of your family, and your dad was such a blessing to my parents, especially when my dad became ill. I will always remember JW for his quiet kindness, for the way he kept the house and yard in perfect condition, and for being so pleasant to talk with. I loved knowing he was down the street, even when I moved away. He will be missed. Here's a hug for you. Love, Charlene

I remember a lot about J.W. but was really sticks in my head is when I lived on W. Chicago and he would kid me about when I was hand washing my vehicle, that I was going to wash the paint right off of it. LOL! I also remember him always asking me when I would be riding my bicycle, if I was going to ride down 33rd Street, since I had a crush on a guy that lived on that street. I ALWAYS enjoyed visiting with J.W., seeing him ride his bike, seeing him taking walks, etc. I will definitely miss our talks and his great smile.
