Glenn Ray Hays
September 4, 1951 - February 19, 2015
Raymond Polk (Beaumont, TX)

Glenn was a great person and a great Assistant Principal . He served as my right hand for two years while serving as Principal of the Memorial Ninth Grade. I have never had such an excellent co-worker. We were a team and made great strides at the Memorial Ninth grade campus. In my forty two (42) years as an educator and many of those as a principal, I can say without reservations he was the best.
May he rest in peace.

Adrienne Davis Lott ()

My deepest and most sincere condolences to the family of Mr. Hays. He was my 9th grade geometry teacher at Lincoln in 1988. Math was always my weakest subject but Mr. Hays was a GREAT teacher--especially to the most vulnerable students on campus (freshmen). 13 years later, I returned to my alma mater to begin my career in education as a permanent substitute. Mr. Hays was an AP by then. He remembered me and was a huge help in my adjustment to my new working environment. He touched the lives of hundreds of students and staffers in his lifetime. Thank you all for sharing him with us. He will truly be missed and was a remarkable educator and man.

I was sad to hear of the passing of Glenn Ray, from "Punkin"! He lived a good life.
Molly and my prayers are uplifted for the family in this time of need!

Sarah Pierce (Port Neches)

When you were my principal, I found out that you were also my third cousin. When I wou get into trouble at school, you would call my mom and tell her that "Our little angel has done it again". No matter how much I rebell against it, you always had my best interest in mind, and were just trying to lead me to the right path. To one of the most memorable educators I ever had the honor of meeting, you will be greatly missed in our young hearts. Thank you for everything you helped teach me, because even though it didn't seem like it, I did listen, and it made me a better person today.
