I so wish I could be there with my cousins to mourn the loss of their mother/our aunt. I fondly remember Aunt Mary taking me in for a summer or two during my tumultuous teenage years. As if she needed another kid! But she always treated me with such kindness and love. Even when she went to St. Joseph's she responded to my letters and cards, even though I know she had dozens of children/grandchildren to keep track of.
I have lovely photos of her with my father, and her other brothers that my cousins have shared with me.
Aunt Mary was the most loving, kindhearted and holy woman I have even known and our loss is Heaven's gain.
I can't help but think there is a big Berlier party in Heaven now, with all the brothers and sisters united with their parents.
God Bless Mary ("Dolores") Shalkowski. nee Berlier Tuesday, December 16, 2014 |

I have very fond memories of Mrs. Sudela. I was a good friend of Betty's and went over often. Mrs. Sudela was either sewing or cooking, and I always felt so welcomed there. She was so special. Monday, December 15, 2014 |
