Bill, I just finished reading your dad's obituary in the Sunday Enterprise. What a tribute to him. My thoughts are with you as you put your dad to rest.

Jerry made going to work at GSU fun. He was serious and smart when it came to business, but he always had time for a quip or two in passing, along with sharing that twinkle in his eye that is so evident in his picture here. I remember that he had an extensive vocabulary, of which he made the most in his business writings, many of which Mildred Osborne and I "read back" (proofed) for him. In proofing one particular document Jerry wrote, we were getting caught up in his use of profound language, when we stopped, went to the next sentence, and started laughing. It read, "and that's a lot of water!" A six-word sentence in one of Jerry's writings? "And that's a lot of water" became a running joke among the three of us. Thank you, Jerry, making life back then so pleasant. Rest and peace to you, Friend.
