I loved working for Tom, starting in the late ‘70s at “America’s Grandest and Best Creative Advertising Agency” – Vance-Mathews. Tom and Herschel never had small advertising ideas or made mediocre claims. Instead, we had people who served time in prison for burglary doing testimonial ads to sell security lights, a contest to give away a big bull at a savings and loan if you could guess its weight, and a commercial recreating Napoleon ridding his castle of roaches by firing cannons at them. Every day was crazy, fun or both. And I met extraordinary people who became lifelong friends. We laughed so much with Tom over the years and the last time we saw him. I’m ever-grateful to be one of the VMX girls and for the friendship and memories of Tom Vance.

Ms. Jo & Andrea,
No words can capture the Big Life Tommy lived and shared with us all.
Tommy was a genius, full of talent, love and laughter. I'm so proud to be one of the VMX Girls and grateful we had time to share with him just a few weeks ago.
He will never fade and will always hold a special place in my heart.
Peace, Sharon
