I was surprised and saddened to hear of the loss of Joan. From my childhood, I remember Joan as a very kind and fun loving person. She was in the band and played clarinet, and we traveled to many football games together. About 15 years ago, I got to visit with her at WalMart in Silsbee. It was so good to see her! She told me how she remembered coming to slumber parties for my New Year's birthday. Her birthday was close to mine on Christmas Day. My mother mentioned many times how sweet Joan's mother was, and I imagine Joan was a lot like her with her own family. May the family be comforted at this difficult time with many special memories.

Dear Mike,
I was shocked when I read that Joan had gone "Home" - seems like it was only a few months ago that I saw her in WalMart in Silsbee. She looked really good. Joan was a wonderful Christian woman - you were lucky to have her as your wife. I know she is in Heaven now and is enjoying all the beauties there. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. If I can do anything for you, please let me know.

Rest in peace my faithful friend. I will always carry wonderful childhood memories of you, Sue and your brothers. We had such wonderful summers playing on Villa Road. You were a true friend. I am so glad I got to visit with you recently. I will always remember the bull keeping us held hostage in the apple tree! We have all lost a special person but God has you now!
