Autumn minton ()

I met Mr. Westmoreland at Summer Place nursing and rehab and he was such a special and sweet man. Everyday he would come talk to me and tell me stories of his past and one day he even sang me his high school song!! I was very sad to hear he was gone but I am happy to know he is in no more pain and probably making everyone in Heaven laugh :) I sure will miss talking with him

John C. Westmoreland (San Jose, CA)

Charles was my Father. First I would like to thank everyone for the kind words, condolences; and for those that were able to come to the funeral and/or the reception; thanks for coming and showing your support for our family.
It is a challenge to include everything about a person's life in one discussion; but I want to mention my Father's participation in the South East Texas State Fair in the latter part of the last century. Dad, as you know, worked for the Texas Department of Agriculture; and worked at the SE TX State Fair every year he was employed, in various roles. There were lots of livestock to be judged; cows, bulls, pigs, rabbits, etc - you name it. Plus the rodeo. Dad worked the AG booth and was involved in all aspects of the Fair as far as the AG department was concerned. We always went - Debbie and I sometimes even helped with whatever Dad needed help with. This was a big part of my childhood besides the marathon fishing trips with Dad on Galveston Bay. I learned a lot about livestock from Dad and I would spend work days with him when I was off from school or during the summer. That was an enjoyable time for me; plus I did learn something new just about every day I helped him with his job. He was involved with the various Agricultural Research Stations and even worked the TX-Mexican border on several occasions for the AG department. We will all miss you Dad.

Audrey Westmoreland (San Jose, CA)

I am a daughter-in-law of Charles Westmoreland married to John Westmoreland for over 20 years. The first time I met my father-in-law I always have felt welcome into the Westmoreland Family as one of his daughters. He was always a good Grandfather to my children, always remembering their birthdays and always sending something nice and cards in the mail and always remembering to call. He was very good at remembering all of the dates and always made me and my children feel good around the holidays. He wanted to know what we had to eat and what I was cooking on Thanksgiving or New Year's and Christmas. He always gave us good advice in a positive manner. For me, he was a good father and Grandfather for my children. We will miss you Dad. May God bless you always.
