Clay, Sheri, Bob and Polly and the rest of the Matlock family. May you find peace and comfort in this time of such great loss. Hadn't seen David or you in quite a while, but when I babysat for you when you were little children, Clay and Sheri, it was obvious that he loved you both dearly. May he rest in peace.

Clay, Sheri and family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Your dad was a special man, always with a smile, a good story or joke to tell and an amazing cook. He was so very proud of you both and of his grandchildren and great grandson.

To the David Matlock Family:
I am truly sorry to hear about David's passing. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. David was a kind, gentle, and loving man and was well respected not only in the Winnie- Stowell area, but surrounding communities as well.
David and several of his friends enjoyed social gatherings at the Wafffle House in Winnie for years. He and I would discuss the Bible several times on these occasions and we both enjoyed the lessons that we both learned from these discussions.
His family came first and he was always telling his friends how proud he was of his kids and grandkids. Nine times out of ten you could find David at the East Chambers Football Stadium on Friday nights watching Jarrod play football. He always stood along the fence.
I know how hard it is to lose a dad but I also know that David is in a better place and his body is whole again. Please know that our Savior only picks the best and He did when He called David to his eternal home.
He is now mowing the grass around the River Jordan on a tractor of course and swapping stories with his friends that have gone on before him.
Rest in Peace David and go rest high on that mountain. You will always be remembered.
