Nancy,
I just read of your Mom's passing on Facebook. She was such a beautiful and wonderful person. My mom, Jane McLain, always considered her as her best friend after their many years working together at Hillcrest Elementary. They kept in touch until my Mom's death in 2009. We all loved her so for being such a good friend always.

I'm in PA for the summer with my daughter, Katy. When I told her the news, she said your mom had sent her an email as recently as last year...just checking in. I had no idea, but I'm not the least bit surprised that she cared enough to stay in contact for so many years.

I can just envision the greeting your mom received in heaven from your dad and my parents. I bet they already have plans to have coffee and talk about the good ol' days! I know you will miss her as I do my mom, but I also know heaven received a beautiful new angel. She was a blessing to all who had the honor of knowing her. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your loved ones.

Rita Trahan (Orange, TX)

Sending my love and sympathy to Frances family. She was a wonderful school nurse I will never forget. I had a son with severe allergies and asthma and Frances was always there for him. With her on the campus it was easier for me as a mother to let my son go to school. She always had such a soft voice and calmness about her that made any sick child feel assured and cared for. Frances and I formed a lasting friendship and she was a great nurse and lady. She will always be remembered for her smile and the love and care she had for my child and the other children as well. She was truly a person one could never forget.

Debbie Belle-Isle (Beaumont, TX)

Dear Nancy, Amanda and Alyssa
Just to let you know Frances was such a great Blessing in my life. I will always cherish our conversations with each other. She always knew the right thing to say and cheer you up if you were down. It was such an honor to know her and have her as my dear friend. I can still hear her say, "Well, hello there Debbie Belle-Isle." She was my inspiration to go back to school and get my Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She truly was a carbon copy of Florence Nightingale. I will always cherish the statue of Florence Nightingale that she and Mr. Langston gave to me. Thanks for sharing your Mom and Dad with me. I am truly thankful for them being a part of my life. Thank you all and may God be with you always.

Carleen & Larry Minaldi (Nederland, TX)

When our son started school in 1st grade, he was used to taking a nap every day. He would get soooo sleepy after lunch and ask to go to the nurse's office because he was "sick". I called her office when I found out he had been sick. She told me he was just sleepy.....Mrs. Langston would let him lay down a while to satisfy his sleepiness! What a blessing she was to all the children.

Nancy, Alyssa, and Amanda, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Frances lived an amazing life and blessed so many! I admire the way she lived through old age, still active and serving others. I hope you find comfort in your memories of her as you look back and hope as you look to the future.
