I am deeply saddened by the news of J.D.'s passing. He was my neighbor here in Hardin, Texas for a good number of years. I could not have asked for a better couple than the Layfield's to be my neighbor. He and his wife Lucille proved to be some wonderful people. Always ready and willing to help. I remember back when they put in the pool in their back yard, about 6 weeks later he and Lucille came over to the house and he explained how upset he was with me. I asked what I had done! He explained that since they had put the pool in that I had not brought my kids over for a swim. He explained that since he had to run the pool pump to keep the water clean, it might as well have a reason to run. SO GET THEM KIDS OVER THERE FOR A SWIM. Well I told everyone to get dressed to go swimming. Even after we moved down the street and they finally moved out of the Hardin area, my wife and I would sometimes sit around and laugh about some of the things he and I did.
J.D. may you rest in peace. Lucille I am sorry for your loss.
With all the love and respect from us to you. God Bless.
