Charlotte Collins Brooks
August 28, 1935 - April 20, 2014
Marcy Murphy (Westminster, MD)

When I started working on Capitol Hill I heard many stories about congressional wives, but Mrs. Brooks dispelled them all! She was always gracious, dedicated to her family and kept the Congressman's feet firmly planted on the ground. I am so grateful to have had a chance to know her. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Love to you all!

With Charlotte's passing it is the end of an era. It was an honor to know her. She lived her life with grace and charm and will always be remembered in that light. The world will be less gentle without Charlotte Brooks.

Marjorie Shepherd Turner (Albuquerque, NM)

I am shocked and grieved to learn of Charlotte's passing. She was so tolerant of her husband's high school friends and their celebratory reunions. I loved her story of meeting Queen Elizabeth in England. She had a good life but it should have been longer.
