I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your beloved. I did not know him, but my father must have. You see my Dad was Staff Sergeant Company C,232nd Infantry of the 42nd Rainbow Div. Sadly, he died in 1971. I have been researching the battles he was in and cannot find much on company c of 232nd and was surprised to find this obit. What struck me was that your father, grandfather received a Bronze Star w/OLC because of his involvement on April 1, 1945 near Brittenbrun, Germany. My Dad, also received a medal for heroism. On April 2, his platoon ran out of ammo and he had to crawl over open terrain under heavy enemy fire to secure more ammo and then crawl back so that the platoon could continue on and successfully attack the enemy. My Dad was Edward B. McCloskey. I don't know if you have any stories or pictures of your father's time with the 232nd, but I would be interested in getting in touch with you if you do. We were saddened to learn of Dorcy's death. We became friends when he and your mom helped me with the 50 Year Parish History of St. Anne's.
They were justifiably proud of you boys and your families. We loved visiting the playhouse and hearing of the planned activities for "camp"
each summer. In addition it was fun to see them at Aggie functions. Please know that you all and your parents are in our thoughts and prayers.

My father, Charles Bush, and Mr. Watler served in World War II together and were wounded together on April 1, 1945. They remained great friends since that time until my father passed away in 2008. That's two of the best that are gone. God Bless you all during this time.

I came to know Dorcy from my affiliation with St. Anne’s Boy Scout Troop 85. We have always been thankful to Dorcy for helping to start Troop 85 and to instill it with values that have guided the Troop for the last 55 years. Over the years he attended many of the Troop’s functions and was an inspiration for the young Scouts.

May Dorcy rest in Peace and may the Peace of Christ be with his loved ones.
