Mobil Oil Corp brought our family to Beaumont, St. Anne's brought us to meet the Green family. My first memory is following the flood of 79, our son TJ called Danny to see if they could get together. Peggy said to get your mother on the phone..."We put our four in a boat at midnight last night and boated our way our of our home!" Yikes!
What a change from sunny California but our sunshine became the Green family even though Peggy said she wouldn't be friends with me because all Mobil people leave and it's just too painful to keep saying good-bye.
This past year I lost my husband Tom, the father of our 5 children. I don't envy this final "Good-bye" for Peggy, Sherry, Joe, Danny, Jennifer and all their families. Some will say Marty is in a better place...while true...it sure doesn't feel like it.
Please know that you are in my heart, thoughts and prayers, Mary Ann Saturday, March 8, 2014 |

Peggy and dear family: Doris and I know how deep Marty loved all of you, and how he loved his CHURCH. I'll bet he is leading the board already in Heaven! It was through his encouragement and guidance that I was able to start the Family Life office at the Diocese, and he served so well on our first Board. Our many Happening Team retreats have kept me fed with the Holy Spirit for the past 40 plus years, knowing I had such friends a your family. May God Bless you. Peggy, Johnnie and I have nothing but wonderful memories of Marty! Our prayers go out for you and the family. No one can deny that Marty's bright smile was infectious and always preceded a warm reception and a good story. He was never afraid to let his love and excitement for life shine through ... and he never missed an opportunity to share it. Much love to you all. Friday, March 7, 2014 |

Marty was a true Christian gentleman who knew how to enjoy life, with Christ, family and friends. I'll miss his wonderful wit and his airboat driving! Friday, March 7, 2014 |
