Where to begin......
My heart aches with so much sadness until I recollect back upon the good days. I have read my memory book with the two page entry Jeromy wrote to me and it is priceless. We were best of buds especially our Junior and Senior years or High School. We were in One Act Play together along with Jason, Chris & Bruce. Jeromy was alway my partner on the long bus rides and made me laugh the entire ride. I have priceless pictures with him, I have amazing words of wisdom on the texts he has sent me and I will forever miss his weekly Bible verses that he applied to life to try and help others have a good week. I did get to visit with him on two different visits to Austin while he was in the hospital. The first visit I was there for about 2 hours and he was so very precious and communicated with me to "please come back". He winked at me several times, he puckered up for kisses, he had me scratch his hair and face because he was not able. The next visit which was on Feb. 9th, I stayed for almost 5 hours and he slept 4 out of the 5 hours but I didn't mind just watching him get some rest and holding his hand. During those 5 hours, I got to talk with his parents and oh what amazing people they are. Their love for Jeromy is the way it should be between all parents and their children. I know now why Jeromy was such an upstanding young man in High School and an amazing man today. The last hour I had with Jeromy was so precious to me and something I will hold on to forever. Please do not take your friendships and the special people in your life for granted because we are not promised tomorrow. Jeromy's last text to me was when we were sending pics back and forth of our dogs. His last words on my phone after seeing my Yorkies are, "My heart just melted". Jeromy, you have melted my heart along with many others and you my sweet, precious friend will be missed forever. I love you and you will ALWAYS be in my heart.

Jason and Anna and The Hughes Family,

To see "Mr. Hughes" for Jeromy just takes my breath away and tears to my eyes. The Hughes Brothers, (known as the "Hauses", their nickname,) were friends from the time we came to Hamshire and are still very precious guys to us. Our kids were in one-act play and all UIL events together. We rode so many buses almost everywhere. They came to our house, along with Bruce Hodges, many times to get Chris and be off to bowling and movies when they had time. We'd always try to slip them $20 just for fun.
I remember when their class came to high school as freshman, Mrs. Linda Mott our one-act play sponsor, came to my classroom and said, "Oh my gosh, do you know there are about four boys in that class who could be in my one-act plays." And--so the rest is history. They all made good grades and were very invovled in the life of my boys, Chris and David., even backpacking across Europe.
I sponsored the yearbooks at H-F, and always made sure that Jeromy's name was spelled correctly, with an 'O'.
We have lots of pictures, and we will never forget all those good times, and we will never forget Jeromy. We love you honey."

To the family of Jeromy Hughes,

Our prayers and Love are with you all. The loss of a child
has to be a very trying time. I cannot imagine getting
through this without your family and friends.

May God be with all of you and give you the strength that
is certainly needed.
