It certainly doesn't seem possible that Aunt Mary has passed. I would say that her wry sense of humor & contagious smile made everyone's life fuller. I'll always remember her as working hard, playing hard and enjoying life. There are so many things that have and will continue to remind me of her... Just some of them are: eating sunflower seeds, red hots & club crackers, reading Mad magazine, playing dress up in Grandma's attic, making a playhouse while cleaning the hayloft, gathering eggs, swimming in the stock tank, riding King the big black plow horse, washing grandma's car, and on... She had a way of just making everything fun - even when it was chores. Missy & Aime, I can only imagine how much you will miss your Mom, but there will be so many wonderful memories that will keep her alive in all of our hearts.

Mary A. Berning (Lincoln, NE)

Dear Missy and Amie and families,
I'm so sorry about Aunt Mary Monica's passing. My heart breaks for you girls and your families. My memories of your mom are of a fun-loving young woman, newly married to your your dad and all of the fun stories they would share of their boating adventures. She was, to me, a brave, fearless woman of the world, loving life and having the time of her life. I couldn't wait for them to come for their visits to Collyer and tell us more of their fun adventures. She was such a good story-teller! Your mom was a one-of-a-kind, so funny and so spunky! Just thinking of her brings a smile to my face. I will miss her. Love and prayers to you all. --Mary Alice
