John Browning Blake
January 23, 1950 - September 18, 2013
Jan West (Trinidad, CA)

I met John when I organized a Peace Corps conference in Lancaster, PA in 2010 and the 50th anniversary celebration in Washington, DC in 2011. Although I didn't know him very long, John and I shared a number of e-mails and I felt we became good friends. It saddened me immensely to hear of his passing. I found him to be a caring, friendly, thoughful man with a deep sense of commitment and service to others. He will be missed by our Peace Corps community.

There has never been a man with a kinder, more altruistic spirit than that of John Blake. He spent his life in service to his fellow man. I will miss him always.
