Gene Carpenter was a good man. He gave me and my brother Cody our start in law enforcement. For me it was back in 1974, for Cody it was 1970. We had good times working for Gene back in the 70's. Always looked forward to going to work. Chief, you rest now, we got it from here, job well done my friend...we shall see you later. Monday, September 16, 2013 |

We are so sorry to hear of Gene's passing, but rejoice that he is free of suffering. We went to church for many years with Gene and your mom. We loved them both and they had such sweet spirits. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Monday, September 16, 2013 |

With heartfelt sympathy and a feeling of loss, I see another great man in my life pass away. He gave me my start in police work that lasted 41 years and he always had words of support and encouragement for me and my fellow officers. A great loss to us all. Monday, September 16, 2013 |
