Troy is the best grandfather that I could ever wished for. He is a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a great American. We will miss you terribly but we know that we will see you soon. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 |

I first met Troy when he and his brother Leon were stationed in England. I was married to Leon and we spent many pleasant times together. Later when we returned to the states Troy, Louise and children and Leon and I and our children spent many happy hours together. I have many fond memories of our times together. Love and miss you...Jean,Lorraine,Dean and Darrell Wednesday, September 4, 2013 |

Troy was my Uncle, but I thought of him and Leon more like brothers and Sandy like my sister. Everytime Mother and Emory got stationed at another army post, they would bring Bobby and me to Granny's and we would spend the rest of the school year and the summer with them. Troy was six years older than me. When Leon was mean to me, throwing worms on me and stuff, Troy would make him stop and would look out for me. Troy will be missed very much. He is now at peace and my prayers are with Louise and the rest of the family and friends. May God bless each of us. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 |

Memories: Troy was nine years older than me and I really looked up to him. He called me sugar and I often heard Sug get me a glass of water or Sug get my shoes and I would run to do it. He is the one who took note that I would always go off by myself to cry. I remember his paper route, he delivered the Grit news paper on his bicycle which he painted apple green. He worked in a grocery store when he got older. Played the clarinet in the marching band in Cleveland. I remember the huge peppermint candy stick he bought me for Christmas and the scarf he sent to me from Alaska. I still have that scarf. When we moved to the country he and his brother, Leon, would hunt with their 22's and bring home mostly squirrels. One time they each killed a coon and tanned the hides. Our family moved to Arkansas when I was nine and shortly thereafter Troy joined the Air Force and in a few years married his love in Cleveland, Miss Louise Nixon. My parents couldn't be at that wedding but the newly weds sent the top decoration from their wedding cake. Mama and I visited them in Laredo and he took me to see "Lady and the Tramp", I was twelve.
Louise, when I was sitting with you all in the hospital waiting room and Troy was getting his stint put in, it wasn't lost on me how close you all are. Everyone rallied around and were there if they could be. You all have something very special. I am so sorry you have lost your husband, dad, and grandfather. God bless you all.
