To my cousin Rochelle, although we have been apart for a while I always remember silly little things. I feel your pain and pray for you in this time of sorrow. I remember Derek when he was little with real red hair and as he got older it lightened up. The last time I saw him was in Vidor he was so silly he was trying to talk you into letting him drive your car somewhere and you didn't want to but of course he was able to persuade you, that moment was cute. Im so sorry for the loss of your son.
My heart goes out to Larry to. love ya cuz.

I remember sitting in a chair in the hospital room after you were born, and they brought you to me all swaddled up. Your face was so sweet, and it made me so proud to hold you before anyone else. I was only 4 years old. From that day, you filled my life with the same things most little brothers bring their big sisters: love, pestering, fights, games, admiration and more love.
I remember some of your first words & the way you'd say them. You'd like out the window and say "It's NAINing!" with those bright blue eyes so big. Or you'd ask for a "bee-na-nu" before your little hands could reach them.
I remember us riding in the back of the truck down the beach, dragging a stick & trying to write your name in the sand.
I remember watching you go to your first formal dance.
I remember watching a smile light your face when you got your diploma & you said "PawPaw's smiling down on me right now!"
So many memories, and I thought there was so much time for so many more. There is a hole in my heart that will never be filled. I know there are so many people who will say the same. You brought so much joy to so many lives, Derek. I will be forever grateful for the experience of being your big sister, and all the memories we made together. I love you so much, and have since that first time I held you when you weren't even 30 minutes old. Love, Sis.
