Doc. was my Doctor and friend from 1954 until his passing. When my father was so ill he would stop by the house to see if Mom needed anything, and give courage to her. We never saw a bill.My son had a spider bite and if Doc. had not taken care of it ,he surley would have died.We stood by him during some of his trying times and loved him as always. What a great guy and super friend....Doug

Dr. Walters was my doctor from 1958 until he retired. He delivered my daughter, and always took great care of our family. When my daughter was a newborn, she was allergic to milk, and he saw to it that we had special formula for her when we did not have the money to pay. I became a nurse at Mid-Jefferson Hospital where I had the pleasure of working with him in labor and delivery. I think he was one of the best OB doctors I have ever known. I baby-sat for his grandchild, and knew the family well. One thing that I never let him forget was once back in the 1970's he dyed his hair black and showed up to make patient rounds in a burnt-orange polyester leisure suit ... quite shocking! I got the giggles, and he started laughing too. I moved from the Mid-County area in 2003, and was not aware that Dr. Walters had passed. I will miss him.

I was a young DPS Trooper in Beaumont when I first went to Dr. Walters. I continued to use his services for many years until I moved away. He also was my wife's physician during some tough times. He always had that smile and a story to make you feel so much better. He also understood the financial hardship of young DPS employee. Once several years after we moved away we were visiting relatives in the area, my daughter was running a very high fever and he was able to work her in and take care of the problem. And, as always the price was right. I always appreciated him more than one could imagine. I used to see him at various DPS functions and last saw him at James Moses' funeral a few years ago. He still had that smile. You, his family, were very lucky to have him. Richard W. Rose DPS Sergeant (Retired)
