I always considered Sydney one of 'my girls.' Her passing is a heartbreaking loss. I had looked forward to years of hearing about her mission and fulfilling plans for the future. How my heart goes out to all her family. Celeste, Pat and kids, we will be praying fervently that angels will be sent to comfort and sustain you through this time of sadness and questioning.
Sydney was in such a pure place in her heart and spiritual preparation. She will be with our Heavenly Father waiting for her family and her many friends to join her in His Kingdom. May we be as valiant and determined as she was to make great choices.
Our prayers will ever be with you. Colin and Mindy Gordon

My thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Hathaway family. I babysat these kids when they were growing up in Ohio. I will always remember her as the beautiful little girl tip toeing around talking up a storm. She will be truly missed.

We could not have been more saddened to learn the awful news this morning. We have loved the entire Hathaway family for as long as we've been associated. Sydney was particularly a joy to us with her quick wit, quicker smile and warmth of spirit. May your memories sustain you at this difficult hour and God be with you 'til we meet again.

I will always have a warm place in my heart for Sydney. She was one of the best students I have ever had the privilege of teaching. She always lit up the room with her warm and caring personality. We have lost a wonderful young lady and heaven has gain a wonderful angle. I hope her family's grief will be eased by the knowledge that she is next to our Lord in Heaven, smiling down on us all.

I have very fond memories of Sydney in my acting class at Southern Virginia University last fall. She was a true original, fearless about expressing herself, yet warm and friendly. I extend my deepest condolences to her family and friends.
