I had the pleasure of coaching Joey during his high school career. Joey was an exceptional athlete that could have played any sport he wanted, but he chose baseball! Baseball was Joey's life, and he lived it to the fullest. Joey was one to bring a smile to your face, and he did it quite often; especially when he was around his teammates. One of the most memorable smiling moments came on a team bonding trip to Lake Ivanhoe at the Woodville tournament Joey's senior year, in which we were the Champions! I have many great memories of Joey playing the game he loved. One of a coaches proudest moments comes when one of your players is blessed to go on to the next level. Joey was blessed, but he sure earned it. He overcame obstacles that stood in his way and came away a champion. Joey is the seventh player/student that I have had to say goodbye to in my short career as a teacher/coach. So long #7 Joey Johnson. You will never be forgotten!

Joey & Donna
There are no words that can make the pain less or answer the question why, but many prayers are going up for you at this difficult time. May the love of friends, family and God comfort you now and the days to come. Remember the good times and smile. Memories never go away.

Donna and Joe our deepest sympathy goes out to you both. Remember the joy you had with Joey. We remember the games at Amelia where he played for Darrell. Remember God has a plan and he will not put on you more than you can handle. Let the Lord be your strength and comfortable because no man can help you through this tough time, only the Lord can. We will remember Joey and you in our prayers. Darrell and Sherry Hadnot.

Donna and family I am so sorry for your loss. I know it is hard to except because I watched my mother lose both of my brothers. I can only say that God has a plan for Joey and needed him home. It doesnt help the pain but the fact that he is in a better place will help when its all over. My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this time and the days ahead. If I can do anything just let me know. Again so sorry for you loss.
