Judy and James, I am so very sorry to hear about Mildred. She and Samp were so very special to me and the children. Mildred became my "mom" in every way when I lost mother. She was always there, whether I was worrying, laughing or crying. She and Samp will always hold a special place in my heart and my memories. I wish I could have been with you today. Betty

There are no words to take away sadness at a time like this. I hope the knowledge that all who knew your mother and father loved them helps and that their time on earth was well spent. I wish you and yours strength and comfort.

James and Judy, I know you probaly do not remember me from North End Methodist because I was much younger than you. You may have know my Parents - Carl and Mary Rush. My Dad taught College and Career Class at One time and not sure if you were in it when he did. But wanted you to know how much of an influence your mother had on so many of us in the church. I was one of those who was in their MYF group for 4,5,6 graders. I remember learning all of the creeds and books of the bible. I still have the cards in my Red bible that I received in thrid grade for learning those items. Also the devotionals in "Little Visits With God". She was one of the main religious influences in my life as a child. She taught us to Love one Another, be tolerant of others, and to be kind. I do not believe I ever saw her angry or without a smile on her face. I also enjoyed the outing with MYF to Putt-Putt and to your home on Forrest Street. What a magical house to a young person. It was so big and had exciting items everywhere. And the smells out of the kitchen were awesome. I can almost smell the Christmas cookies baking. After I was married I would see her at the Mall doing her daily walking - always thinking of mind and body. I would ask about you andher grandchildren and she would always have great stories of pride to tell. Prayer for you and your family as your deal with her loss and remember her memories. And Oh what meories.

James, you and your family have been blessed to have such a wonderful mother. I remember how gracious she was when you and I studied together at her home.

I am saddened to learn of Mildred's passing. Forty seven years ago at North End Diane and I met her and Junius. They were surrogate parents to Diane and myself and later stand in grand parents to our children. She had such an influence on everyone who came in contact with her. Her devotion, her crafts, her gardening, her love for all, her kindness, and above all her friendship will never be forgotten. My sympathy to Judy and James and their families. I am sorry I cannot be there with you.

My deepest Sympathy to the family of Helen. She was such a special lady to many at North End-Wesley Methodist. She touched many lives. She always had her sweet smile for everyone and a kind word that made your day brighter.

My thoughts and prayers are with you the Sampson Family. My fondest, memories of Mrs. Sampson are watching her work in her garden/yard, feeding the birds and petting the dogs through the fence. I am grateful for Mildred and Julius always being there to help my children with their school projects and being their mentors. She was never to busy to be of service in the neighborhood or her community. She will be truly missing and loved by all that knew her.
