Tanton Family, So happy that I was able to spend a few minutes with you guys at visitation. Sorry I was unable to attend the funeral. Your mom was a very special lady, she touched many lives. I am so glad that I ran into her a few weeks back and we were able to reminiscence about old times. I know how hard this will be for you guys, the loss never goes away but it does get easier. You guys are lucky to have such a close family and your strength will come from each other. Jon Ethel will be truly missed by many.

Janice, I'm so sorry for the loss of your mother. She was a great lady! I admired her so much for her straightforwardness and her conviction for what she believed. I haven't seen her in a few years, but I will always remember your mom as a woman of great strength. She was an influence on my life and I was privileged to know her. God bless you and your family.

I knew Jon Ethel as "Mammaw" for 17 years, and she was such a great woman. She was always full of life and loved her independence. She always had a good, loving, and strong hug for me whenever I saw her.
I had the pleasure of knowing her and feel fortunate to have known her. Beyond her loving personality, she was a GREAT cook. I got to sample her infamous dumplings on many occasions.
You'll be missed, Mammaw, by many people. We will keep your memory alive by talking about what a great lady you were.
Love, Susan

Jon Ethel was a dear friend. She recently stopped by while I was working outside at the homeplace in Silsbee. We visited for over an hour and she stood the entire time. Thankful that we were able to share time and hugs. RIP, dear Jon Ethel.
