Wow, I'm going to miss Pat. I've never met a man who loved his wife more. Now they're together with the Lord. I'll miss him and Gertie. Dan Jacobs, Caplen Shores, Texas.

My sincere sympathies to all who loved Pat but especially to Tracey and Karen who I had the privilege to have as students. Pat was indeed special and when I returned to NHS following the birth of my first son Jason, I was given his math classes since he'd just been named Head Coach and Athletic Director and no longer taught classes. Pat had already completed the entire text books by January and I was left to "improvise" for the spring semester. What a challenge--and I was not a math major nor so inclined. When I would mention it to him, he was jovial and encouraging which set the tone for our relationship from 1964 to current times. Through trials and disappointments he maintained a sense of humor and a unique perspective on life. It's hard to imagine he's no longer with us but it's also comforting to know he rests with his beloved Gertie and with Jesus.

I never knew a more loving and committed couple than Pat and Gertie Johnson. They were a wonderful example to the world of the perfect couple. For as far back as I can remember (the little green home on Avenue E, full of kids and life) I loved them both like family. I know you are surely peaceful now Pat - back with your Gertie!. My sincerely sympathy and thoughts are with your children now, Tracey, Karen, Jeffrey & Patrick. Lori Dorr Selby
