Black John; I have not seen you in years, but I will never forget you and the fun we had together when we where young, single and crazy as hell. Honky Tonks, pool shooting, water-ski jumping, and Salhab's when you insisted on getting my Sunday punch in the belly. You kept telling me I'd be good at bull-dogging because I had the arms for it. It was always a compliment to me, but I think you were just looking for a good laugh. It's been real, watch for, I'm not too far behind you.

Kim, Cody & Family We are so sadden by the passing of Johnny . Our prayers go out to the entire family & numerous friends that knew him. He was a dear friend of ours for nearly 40 years & we will miss him very much. We were with Johnny when he decided to be baptized into The Lord and feel comfort knowing he be in heaven looking down on us!

My condolences to Johnny's family. I am a cousin of Johnny's who had always heard my father speak of him in such high regard as I was growing up. Although I met him for the first time about nine years ago, I felt like a knew him forever. He was so genuinely nice and personable. In 2004 I started oil and gas leasing and permitting in SE Texas and everywhere I went people would ask if I'm related to Johnny Ackal and I was very proud to say yes. It seems that everyone I would meet had a story to tell about the wonderful exploits of Johnny. I got to know him over the past nine years and made several trips to his home to visit. My only regret is that I did not deliver the kibbe and grape leaves in time for him. Kim, Cody & Cody, I am truly sorry for your loss and I will always consider myself fortunate to have known such a nice gentleman who accomplished so much.
