Dear Ones, It is with deep sorrow and tears that I heard about Uncle Donald's passing into glory. I'll always remember him as fun-loving, cheerful, and loving to sing. He & Herman used to visit us when I was in elementary school and had not been playing the piano very long. They always wanted me to "try" to accompany them as they sang around the piano. Those were special times, and wish we could re-live them!! Will just have to await that glorious reunion we'll all have in heaven singing praises to our wonderful Lord!!! Praying that our precious Comforter will comfort you and give you His peace as only He can! Lovingly, Janice

What an honor and privilege to have known Donald. I played for a quartet consisting of Donald, Larry, Vic, and Johnny at FBC, Nederland. We spent many hours practicing for special music and just for fun. I will never forget one of Donald's favorite songs he would sing as a solo--- "Hallelujah Square." I know he has already found his place in Heaven to sing with the angels. May God bless the family with peace and comfort. Lyn Lee

Aunt Cathy, I was heartbroken to hear of Uncle Donald's passing. I wish I could come down for the services and to see you and the family again but we have a committment on Saturday. Please know we are praying for God's peace and comfort during this time. In thinking about all the Monk get togethers through the years, I can just imagine the huge reunion Uncle Donald is having in Heaven with Jesus, Grandma, Grandpa, my Mom and Dad and all the others! WOW! I can't wait to join them.
I love you and will be thinking about you! Love, Sheila

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family! May God wrap His arms around each of you during this time. Mr. Monk was a great friend to my dad (Paul Hollier), lots of laughs and goodtimes with those two. So sorry to hear of his passing, but believe me when I say, Heaven has gained another Angel.

Donald Monk was one of the finest men we have ever known and we loved him very much. We love the time we were with him and Katherine watching Chad and our son play soccer. We so enjoyed serving with him at FBC and loved the singing he led on Wednesday nights. Our favorite times were when he sang solos during the services. He will be missed by us. Katherine we love you so much.
