Edith and I met in 1986 while working at Silver Creek Manor. We were the best of friends and she was a part of our family. I was a Canadian temporarily stationed in San Antonio and when we moved back to Canada she came to visit. That was a big deal to her because she hadn't done much travelling. We lost touch and be both tried to find each other. On December 4th of this year she found me. She found my daughter's name on the back of a baby picture and found her Facebook. My daughter put her in touch with me and Edith called and we talked for hours. We laughed and she brought me up to date about her life, her family and her friends and of course, her baby girl Emily. She called again the next night and asked if she could come to Canada and visit next year. She wanted to see snow. She wanted to ski.
To Edith's family I pass on my deepest heart felt sympathy on your loss. From the stories she told me I know she loved and cared for her parents, her sister with whom she had a special bond, her brothers and her baby girl, Emily, the absolute love her life.
Edith - Rest in Peace my dear sweet friend.
