Gary Guye was one of the best things to ever happened to Hardin Jefferson. He fought for ALL the students. He was a wonderfully kind man who was always welcoming to me and everyone I know. He was the only board member who came to everything - sporting events, fine art events, ag events - everything. He was a man who was deeply loved and respected by all who knew him. I was so sad to hear of his passing. God Bless all those affected by this terrible loss. Rest in Peace, Mr. Guye - thank you for everything you did.

Dear Guye Family, I am so saddened by your loss. I will always remember Mr. Guye as one of the most genuine, caring people of H-J. A man of God, he is no doubt with our Father in heaven now but will be greatly missed in our community and in our hearts. Please know that Joel and I are praying for you all, that you may find comfort and peace during this difficult time and in the days ahead.

Dear Laura, Amy, Jenny, and Katie: My heart is saddened at the sudden loss of my friend, Gary. He was as close as a brother to me and we spent many happy hours talking together. We grew close during our two year search on a Pulpit Committee. We shared many discussions, spirit-filled prayer times, and a deep respect and love of God, wanting to please Him and do His will. I will always love and respect Gary for his patient handling of just about any situation. Being human, I feel that he is gone home way too soon, but God is the Author and Finisher of all things and His decisions are beyond our understanding but perfect in every situation. I find peace in knowing that Gary has now seen Jesus. I am praying for his family to be wrapped in the arms of the One Jesus sent to comfort us. All my love to Laura and family, Linda Thomas

To the Guye family:
I have sat here in shock for the last few days reflecting on Gary's passing. Please know that Pam and I have you and the family in our prayers during this most difficult time. I had the privilege of serving with Gary on the Hardin-Jefferson School Board for over 20 years. Gary always had well thought out suggestions and always voted for what was in the best interest of the students. In all those years, I never once saw Gary angry or even raise his voice when discussing even the most controversial issues. I was amazed how Gary seemed to have his finger on the pulse of what was happening around the District. I know many patrons would call Gary about an issue with a school or their child, and he would make a point to check into it for them. Gary would attend most all campus events, eventhough he had no children still in the District. This displayed his love for kids and education. It is hard for me to imagine sitting at the Board table in the future and not see Gary at the other end. He can never be replaced and he will be missed.
God Bless you all,
Gary and Pam Hidalgo
